You know, I know this video is old, but this and "Dead Girl Walking" were the first two songs I heard from this musical. I was in middle school and my life felt a lot like Veronica's, desperate to fit in and trusting the wrong people because of it. Knowing what she's going through, her desperation to love and be loved costing her everything she cared about, it makes me realize that, while J.D. had valid points, the world will never be perfect, that doesn't mean we have to crumble with it. Every generation goes through hardships and they deal with it in different ways which is why, even if our parents have gone through the same things we have, there is a disconnect. Times are different, always changing, and life is meant to be lived both through joy and pain. As Veronica said "if you were happy all the time, you wouldn't be human". Granted, yes, this musical is very extremist scenarios, but it doesn't mean that lives and people like this on all ends of the spectrums don't exist. In the end, we do have to live and learn from our mistakes, but I think what could help the most is trying harder at being better at bridging the gaps between generations. Because if we can properly teach the future of the world, even though it won't ever be a perfect one, that's how we can really make a difference. Long story short, I love the video, love the musical, and how both these characters are portrayed not as villains or heroes but just lost kids who aren't ready to face the world they've been thrown into, especially alone.

When I was watching this, I was thinking the art style is so similar to muted and lovebot! And now I realize it's because they are the same artist! Love that! This is fantastic by the way!

Muted has remained my favorite webcomic for literally 3 years now... I mean I have never found one I liked as much. Your work is so fun, and so well written. You inspire me to create art and to tell stories. I began reading Muted before I came out as lesbian in high school, and it meant a lot to me. I don't think anybody else suspected me of lesbianism and I felt the need to keep that up for a long time, but it was really comforting to read cutesy wlw stories. Muted, of course, was a lot more than just fluff, but I loved the witchy world-building. You are so creative. Muted appeals in the way harry potter does-- I just couldn't help but want to live there, even when the plot got darker. I also loved how you made atraditional 'panels' and how your digital art could mimic watercolor brushstrokes or other mediums. I hope to one day be able to create like you do! I've only just now discovered the channel, and how delightful it is to learn that you have one where I might learn how.
